Class Description
A common reaction people have when they hear about improv for Caregivers is, ‘What, you’re
teaching them how to tell jokes? Medical situations/end of life isn’t funny—people are ill ,’”
Improv it's not about teaching people to be funny. Improv is about human connection. Our
workshop uses improv to help caregivers to be fully present and work together so they can
communicate better and be more connected to themselves and the people they're trying to
serve. It also provides tools to help with a Caregiver’s personal wellness.
This workshop includes a variety of exercises and games designed to enhance
each participant’s ability to react and respond to situations. Improv exercises have been
customized to improve listening skills and non-verbal communication. We will focus on our
Emotional Intelligence, responding to the emotions of oneself and others. This grows self-
awareness, empathy and effective communication.
